ANDY BLYTH: HOME

"Minstrel with a Message" musician Andy Blyth is a gifted performer, very much at home in front of the misc. Andy comfortably plays his folksy style Americana/blues on guitar, crooning like John Denver, tunes up his long neck banjo similar to Pete Seeger’s and then fills the breaks of a familiar Jim Croce song with a buzzing harmonica – all while telling you a story about Nixon’s re-election campaign sabotage.

Putting out the tip bucket while singing on the streets of the Pike Place Market with Josh, his nine year old son as his sidekick, Andy’ cut his baby teeth in the Seattle folk music scene. Not interested in pursuing music in a smoky bar scene, Andy teamed up with Loraine Bayes and Dennis Westphal to form "Tickle Tune Typhoon", now a highly successful Pacific Northwest children’s music group recognized with many Parent’s Choice Awards.

Twenty five years later, Andy continues to lift spirits and put audience’s toes to tapping with his familiar, regionally flavored tunes. His show is guaranteed to put a smile on your face – and you might even be tempted to sing along to some of the tickled toons!
